Ahopsan Forest; a path and bamboo forest

Ahopsan Forest is a 520,000 square meter private forest in Gijang-gun, about 30 minutes from Haeundae, that was kept completely closed to the public for 400 years.

One family, the Moon clan, tended it across nine generations with a single philosophy: cherish even a single fern. In 2016 they opened the gates. It’s been worth the wait.

In this video we walk the trails through the bamboo groves, red pine, hinoki cypress, and cedar forest — and cover everything you need to know before you visit.
