Asiana flights from Busan to Okinawa will stop Aug. 23
Asiana Airlines has announced that it will suspend flights on the Busan-Okinawa route later this month due to falling demand stemming from a trade row between South Korea and Japan.
A series of Tokyo’s export curbs on Seoul has sparked a “Boycott Japan” campaign in South Korea against travel to the neighboring country and purchases of Japanese products.
Asiana said flights departing from Busan for Japan’s southern resort island of Okinawa will be suspended starting from the 23rd of this month.
Asiana, the smaller of South Korea’s two full-service carriers, currently offers three weekly flights on the route.
