Seoul’s newest attraction, the Yongmasan Skywalk Observatory, has opened along the Seoul Trail’s fourth course, offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding forests at their autumn peak.

The new observatory, part of the Seoul Trail 2.0 initiative, sits within the Mangwoo–Yongmasan section known for its well-maintained hiking paths and scenic overlooks.

Rising up to 10 meters above the forest floor, the 160-meter-long wooden deck allows visitors to feel as if they are walking through the treetops while taking in sweeping views of Namsan Tower, Bonghwasan, Dobongsan, and even Bukhansan in the distance.

To restore the surrounding ecology, Seoul city planners worked with experts to plant a diverse mix of trees and shrubs including cherry, birch, hydrangea, and ornamental grasses creating a “seasonal garden” that reflects the natural rhythm of the forest throughout the year.

The Skywalk is open for a monitoring period until November 28, with operating hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., after which it will fully open to the public.

The closest subway access is Sagaejeong Station (Line 7), about a 50-minute walk from the site.
