A 550-meter section of the Yangju-dong Bamboo Forest Trail in Yangsan has been fitted with new landscape lighting, creating a safer and more distinctive nighttime walking route.

The city invested approximately 200 million won in the project, which was carried out through a participatory budgeting program that incorporated suggestions from local residents.

The newly installed lights, described as “firefly lights,” softly illuminate the bamboo to create the appearance of fireflies moving through the forest.

The trail is a popular neighborhood spot for walking and relaxation. With the lighting project now complete, visitors can enjoy the bamboo forest after dark as well as during the daytime.
