Busan will start charging fares for its autonomous electric bus operating in the Osiria Tourism Complex in Gijang beginning March 9.

The driver-assisted self-driving bus currently runs on two circular routes departing from Donghae Line Osiria Station, connecting riders to the National Science Museum and Gijang Coastal Road.

It operates 13 and 16 trips daily depending on the course, with travel times of about 20 and 30 minutes.

Service runs on weekdays from 8:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and does not operate on weekends.

The one-way fare is 1,450 won when paid by transit card, and free transfers to other public transportation are available.

The vehicle uses Level-3 autonomous driving technology, allowing the bus to operate without driver intervention under certain conditions, though a driver and safety manager remain onboard.

Each bus can carry up to 15 passengers.
