The organizers of the Busan Biennale have released the official key visual for the 2026 edition, offering an early look at the exhibition’s theme, “Dissident Chorus.”
The design draws from street posters and club flyers, using layered typography and overlapping text to reflect the idea of multiple voices coexisting and colliding.
Set against a dark background with varied fonts and subtle color contrasts, the visual is intended to mirror the complexity and energy of urban environments while remaining adaptable across different formats.
The 2026 Busan Biennale is scheduled to open on August 29 and will take place across the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art and locations in the city’s original downtown areas, with the visual system expected to expand into wider public use as open-source design assets.
