The newly renovated “City Hall Sky Garden” opened to citizens on November 5 at 10:30 a.m.
Located on the 4th floor rooftop of Busan City Hall, the Sky Garden was originally created in 2014 as a staff-only space known as the “Sky Yard.” It has now been reorganized into a comfortable public garden and resting area for all citizens..
The Sky Garden has been transformed into a space where visitors can enjoy nature in the heart of the city. The area features gardens with seasonal wildflowers, rest zones, a small playground, a greenhouse classroom, and indoor experience spaces. It aims to provide a peaceful environment where anyone can relax and engage with nature.
In addition to being a resting area, the Sky Garden will host children’s alley play programs every Saturday in connection with the City Hall’s children’s complex cultural space Deullak Nallak.
It will also serve as a pilot site for the city’s “15-Minute Green Expedition” project, allowing children from local daycare centers to participate in gardening and learning activities.
The Sky Garden is open daily to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and can be accessed via the newly installed elevator in the City Hall lobby that connects directly to the rooftop.
This improvement resolves past access restrictions that were in place for building security.
