Busan is full of cinematic scenery, but some of the city’s best views require a bit of effort, either by foot, by elevator, or by a short uphill wander.
From coastal cliffs to rooftop terraces, here are five spots where the reward is worth the climb.
Hwangnyeongsan Beacon Fire Station Observatory
One of Busan’s most iconic skyline views. The winding drive or uphill hike leads to sweeping night scenery stretching from Gwangan Bridge to Marine City. It is especially stunning on clear winter evenings.
Huinnyeoul Coastal Village Skywalk
Yeongdo’s cliffside paths offer dramatic ocean views, pastel houses, and retro stairways. The final stretch to the skywalk is steep, but the panoramic horizon makes it unforgettable.
Jangsan Mountain Ridge Viewpoint
Popular with hikers and photographers, Jangsan’s ridgeline offers serene forest trails that suddenly open to jaw-dropping views of Haeundae, Gijang, and the East Sea.
Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge
A short but steep walk through the forest brings you to the bright red bridge stretching over the sea. The sound of the waves below and the rugged coastline create one of Busan’s most dynamic photo spots.
Gamcheon Culture Village Hilltop Deck
While the village paths twist upward, the reward at the top is the iconic layered hillside of pastel homes leading toward the port. Late afternoon light is especially beautiful.
