The 2026 Busan Food Film Festa (BFFF) will return to Busan Cinema Center and the Suyeong River waterfront from June 26 to 28, marking the festival’s 10th anniversary with a program that brings together film, food, and culture.
Centered on the theme “Familiar Yet Unfamiliar,” this year’s festival will explore the connections between people, places, and food through a variety of screenings, culinary events, and interactive programs.
The festival opens on June 26 at 7 p.m. with the annual Opening Night event at Busan Cinema Center.
The evening will feature a live performance by Busan-based fusion traditional music group Nallari and Jaengi, followed by the screening of the opening film, The Last Cannoli.
Set in Sicily, the documentary follows the final days of a long-running family bakery and reflects on tradition, community, and change. Organizers say the film best captures the festival’s anniversary theme by blending unfamiliar settings with universally relatable emotions.
A total of 17 films will be screened during the three-day event, accompanied by a range of food-focused programs designed to deepen the connection between cinema and cuisine.
One of the festival’s signature events, Cook! Talk!, will offer audiences insights into the foods featured in selected films before screenings begin.
The Food Terrace will showcase dishes from restaurants featured in the 2026 Michelin Guide, while the Food Zone will highlight pop-up concepts from young chefs based in Busan.
Several new and returning interactive programs are also planned.
Cheers Garden will offer craft beer, traditional Korean liquor, wine, and cocktails in a relaxed outdoor setting, while Food Therapy will provide hands-on cooking experiences for children, including opportunities to create their own vegetable pizzas.
Additional attractions include a flea market, potluck table gatherings, themed exhibition areas, and a variety of food and lifestyle experiences throughout the festival grounds.
The opening ceremony is free to attend for the first 1,000 visitors, and organizers expect the anniversary edition to draw food lovers, film fans, and families alike.
