Busan City is hosting the “Foreign Student Galmaetgil Experience Tour” from November 7 to 8, inviting international students to explore Busan’s iconic Galmaetgil walking trails and share their experiences globally.

The two-day event aims to raise international awareness of Busan’s scenic routes and promote the city as a leading destination for walking tourism.

The program brings together 83 international students from four universities — Silla, Dong-A, Dongseo, and Kyungsung — representing 22 institutions across Busan.

Participants will walk selected Galmaetgil courses, learn about Busan’s history and culture, and share their experiences through social media, helping to spread the beauty of the city to audiences around the world.

The event begian on November 7 with an opening ceremony at Arpina Hotel in Haeundae, followed by an introduction to the history and routes of the Galmaetgil.

The group then moved to Oryukdo, a symbolic spot where the East and South Seas meet, to complete the 4.5-kilometer “YOLO Galmaetgil Course 5” (Oryukdo–Igidae). They also visited Arte Museum and F1963 PI:AK in Yeongdo, experiencing Busan’s blend of nature, art, and urban culture.

Today, participants will join the 15th Galmaetgil International Walking Festival at Haeundae Beach, walking alongside local citizens and visitors from around the world. The event is expected to showcase Busan’s charm as both a global maritime city and a premier walking tourism destination.
