Busan’s 21st Global Citizen Festival will return to North Port Waterfront Park on May 23, bringing a full day of international culture, performances, and interactive programs to the city’s waterfront.
The free festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the opening ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m., though times may be subject to change.
Hosted by the Ministry of Justice and Busan Metropolitan City, and organized by the Busan Global City Foundation, the annual event celebrates cultural diversity and global exchange in Busan.
This year’s festival will feature a wide range of experience zones and stage performances, offering visitors opportunities to explore world cultures through food, travel, traditional customs, and K-culture themed programs.
Interactive experience areas include a Global Cities Travel Zone, Global Dessert Experience Zone, K-Culture Experience Zone, Traditional Culture Experience Zone, and a Global Values Promotion Zone.
Live performance programs will also take place throughout the day, including the Global K-Pop Competition, BeFM live broadcasts, CINE Global Citizen, K-Random Play Dance, country dance battles, and performances by sister cities and foreign community groups.
Additional event spaces will include information and promotion booths, mission-based participation programs, and a press zone.
Held at North Port Waterfront Park in Busan’s Dong-gu district, the festival has become one of Busan’s signature multicultural events, bringing together residents, foreign communities, and visitors for a day of performances, cultural exchange, and family-friendly activities.
Admission is free.
