The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) will return from August 21 to 30, bringing stand-up, sketch comedy, street performances, and international acts to venues across Busan.

The festival opens at 7 p.m. on August 21 at the BEXCO Auditorium, hosted by comedian Ji Seok-jin.

The opening ceremony will feature performances by the band QWER, French mime group Mime de Lyon, the cast of Gag Concert, and other Korean and international performers.

Throughout the festival, audiences can enjoy a wide range of comedy shows, including Mandam Assemble @ BICF, Seoul Comedy All Stars, Woo Seok-hoon’s Comedy Shorts, and The Return of Galgali Gag Concert Legends, celebrating 30 years of comedian Park Jun-hyung’s iconic character.

A new addition this year is a special talk show featuring veteran comedians Kim Hak-rae and Lee Yong-sik, held at Millac The Market as a tribute marking the 100th anniversary of legendary comedian Gu Bong-seo’s birth.

Free outdoor events will also take place during the festival, including Comedy Street performances along Haeundae Gunan Road from August 23 to 26, as well as Comedy Open Concert, which will visit the Busan Cruise Terminal, Yurari Plaza, and Dadaepo Beach Park.

The festival concludes on August 30 at the Busan Cinema Center, where awards will be presented before a closing performance of I Am a Gaesinger, a comedy and music show featuring comedian-singers.
