Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Tourism Organization announced that the 2025 Busan International Children’s Book Fair, the only international children’s book fair in Korea, will be held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 from December 11 to 14.

Marking its second year, the fair will bring together over 160 children’s publishers and authors from Korea and abroad, creating a global celebration of children’s literature.

The event, themed “Children and the Sea: Gathering Books of the Sea, Sailing into the Ocean of Stories,” will feature a wide array of programs including book exhibitions, author talks, autograph sessions, and an intellectual property (IP) marketplace.

Among the highlights are special exhibitions of more than 400 children’s books, meetings with renowned writers such as Jinju and Gahi, creators of If You Want to Eat a Red Apple—the first Korean winners of the Bologna Ragazzi Opera Prima Award—and Jordan Scott, author of I Talk Like a River, recognized by The New York Times as one of the best picture books of the year.

The fair will also host interactive workshops, a book-themed play zone, and various cultural programs, offering children and families a space to explore creativity through literature.

Visitors who pre-register online (bicbf.or.kr) by December 10 can enjoy free admission.

Organizers expect around 60,000 visitors over the four-day event, which aims to strengthen the global competitiveness of Korean children’s publishing and foster a vibrant reading culture among young readers.
