Busan will spotlight its local craft industry with a special sales event aimed at domestic and international visitors during the upcoming Busan Pop-up Store event.
The city will promote the city’s unique handicrafts and cultural identity through a series of exhibitions and sales events linked to the Busan Pop-up Store, which will be held at Busan Station Plaza on June 12 and 13.
The event will feature a variety of locally produced crafts presented by the Busan Metropolitan City Craft Cooperative.
Visitors will have the opportunity to browse and purchase products inspired by Busan’s culture and character, including city-themed souvenirs, hand fans featuring Hangeul-inspired designs, and accessories made from traditional Korean hanji paper.
In addition to the Busan Station event, a special craft exhibition and sales promotion will be held at the Busan Crafts Permanent Exhibition and Sales Hall inside BEXCO, providing tourists with another opportunity to discover local artisan products during their stay in the city.
Organizers hope the events will introduce visitors to the creativity and craftsmanship of Busan’s artisans while helping expand sales opportunities for local makers. The exhibitions will feature a range of practical and contemporary craft products designed to make traditional craftsmanship more accessible to modern consumers.
Busan officials expect the initiative to strengthen awareness of the city’s craft industry, encourage cultural consumption, and provide visitors with distinctive souvenirs that reflect the character of Busan.
The city also plans to continue supporting local craftspeople as part of broader efforts to develop handicrafts into a competitive cultural industry and contribute to the local economy.
