The city of Busan has selected Yacht Tallae Co., Ltd. as the preferred bidder to operate the new Busan Marine Tourism Taxi service, which will connect major coastal attractions between Gwangalli, Suyeong River, and Haeundae.

The city announced that six 12-passenger eco-friendly boats will be introduced for the first phase of the project.

The new service is designed to make the act of traveling itself a tourism experience, allowing passengers to enjoy panoramic views of the Haeundae skyline, the illuminated Gwangan Bridge, and the Suyeong River waterfront from the sea. The project aims to highlight Busan’s maritime character while easing road congestion in busy tourist zones.

The city plans to finalize an agreement with Yacht Tallae by the end of the year, followed by ship construction and dock preparation.

Trial operations are scheduled for early 2026, with full operations expected to begin in the second half of the year.

Officials say the marine taxi will serve as both a unique tourism experience and a practical transportation link, complementing existing attractions such as the Busan City Tour Bus.

The initiative is also expected to draw more visitors to waterfront areas, helping boost local businesses and solidify Busan’s identity as Korea’s leading maritime city.
