Set to keep K-culture spotlight on Busan after BTS concerts

With the excitement of BTS’s Busan concerts still fresh, attention is now turning to the 2026 Busan One Asia Festival (BOF), which will bring another wave of K-culture events to the city later this month.
According to the Busan Tourism Organization, final preparations are underway for this year’s festival, which marks its 10th anniversary.
The festival will begin with a picnic-style Park Concert at Hwamyeong Eco Park on June 20, followed by the BOF BIG Concert at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 27 and 28. Performers scheduled to appear include RIIZE, tripleS, Hearts2Hearts, and AKMU.
Organizers are expanding the event beyond music performances by introducing a range of interactive programs designed to showcase different aspects of Korean popular culture. Visitors will be able to explore K-beauty, food, and gaming-themed zones, along with a variety of experiential booths.
One of the biggest changes this year is the expansion of festival activities into the stadium itself. Makeup booths operated by beauty influencers, K-food experiences, and gaming attractions will be available before performances, allowing attendees to take part in festival activities throughout the day.
The concert venue has also been redesigned to improve the audience experience. A protruding stage will be installed at the Asiad Main Stadium, allowing performers to interact more closely with fans and improving visibility compared to previous editions.
Safety preparations have also been strengthened. Organizers plan to closely monitor crowd density both inside and outside the venue while coordinating with relevant agencies to manage visitor flow and maintain a safe festival environment.
With major K-pop performances, cultural experiences, and enhanced visitor facilities, this year’s BOF is expected to draw both domestic and international visitors as Busan continues its efforts to position itself as a year-round K-culture destination.
