The 19th Busan Port Festival will take place from June 19 to 20 at Busan North Port Waterfront Park, the landmark site area, and the Busan Port Authority headquarters, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the opening of Busan Port.
This year’s festival will feature a wide range of cultural performances, family-friendly activities, and maritime experiences.
One of the festival’s highlights is the Port Lounge, a themed space inspired by the leisure culture of seafarers. Visitors can enjoy interactive activities, live performances, and food trucks offering dishes representing eight major trading ports around the world.
Additional attractions include water leisure activities such as kayak rides, pedal boats, and UFO boats in the North Port waterway, as well as a variety of hands-on programs including maritime mission tours, wish boat activities, model ship building, a waterfront book lounge, and children’s writing and drawing contests.
Visitors will also have opportunities to explore Busan Harbor through special cruise tours aboard the E-Green and Jagalchi cruise vessels, along with ship tours organized by the Busan Port Authority.
The festival will officially open at 7 p.m. on June 19 at the North Port landmark site. The opening ceremony will feature performances by singer K.Will and rock band Nerd Connection, followed by a 15-minute fireworks show over Busan Harbor.
Organizers also plan to promote the festival to cruise passengers arriving in Busan during the event period, encouraging greater participation from international visitors.
