Nam-gu District will host the 27th UN Peace Festival from October 25 to 26 at Peace Park, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Nam-gu’s establishment and the 80th anniversary of the UN’s participation in the Korean War.
This year’s festival features a rich two-day program of performances, cultural exhibitions, and hands-on experiences that embody the spirit of global peace and community.
Main Events
The festivities begin on Saturday, October 25, with local performances including the Resident Autonomy Circle Talent Contest and Bubble Show at the special stage, followed by a Peace Parade at 2:30 p.m.
The parade will march from Yuyeong Memorial Park Samgeori to the main stage at Peace Park, showcasing performances by military bands, youth groups, and international students. The evening will feature the Nam-gu Girls’ Choir Celebration Concert and a Peace Concert featuring Mijo, Hamonyz, and Park Ji-hyun.
On Sunday, October 26, highlights include performances by BuKyung University’s Neo Show, Ulsan University Cultural Dance Club (UCDC), and KyungSung University’s Sori Moderns. The PEACE:ON Festival will close the event, featuring youth musicians and artists celebrating peace through music.
Cultural and International Programs
Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy cultural booths and interactive exhibits from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m daily. Programs include global culture zones, peace-themed experiences, citizen participation booths, and performances by foreign residents such as the Foreign Resident Talent Contest and the UN Peace Global Golden Bell Quiz.
In honor of the UN’s 80th anniversary, a special UN Participation History Exhibition and a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Photo Zone will also be on display.
Family Fun and Food
A Flea Market, World Games, Food Trucks, and local food stalls will fill the park, creating a family-friendly atmosphere. Busking performances and hands-on workshops will also be available throughout both days.
