Busan’s North Port Waterfront Park, already popular for walking, leisure activities and running, is set to become even more visitor-friendly with new facilities and expanded public programs.
Busan Port Authority announced that new directional signboards will be installed this month across a 3-kilometer stretch connecting the coastal cruise pier, Busan Port Passenger Terminal, Pier 1 warehouse, North Port Marina, Starlight Canal and the Busan Port Cruise Terminal. A total of 10 signs will provide visitors with directions and distance information to key destinations, helping improve navigation throughout the waterfront area.
The project is also expected to connect with Busan’s planned Baranuri-gil seaside walking route, creating a continuous pedestrian path linking the old downtown area to North Port Waterfront Park.
Officials are also carrying out cleanup work at the park’s Starlight Canal, removing overgrown aquatic plants and floating debris to improve water quality and scenery.
The waterfront park will host a variety of upcoming events, including night running races, walking festivals, the Busan Port Festival, Port Village Busan 2026 and the summer SUP Festa featuring marine sports activities.
