Couples in Busan will have the opportunity to take wedding photos alongside whooper swans this spring and summer, as the Nakdong Estuary Eco-Center launches a special seasonal program.

Running from April through September, the initiative allows engaged and newlywed couples to photograph their wedding moments at a waterbird habitat featuring whooper swans, birds known for forming lifelong pair bonds.

The program is designed to highlight themes of love, commitment, and coexistence with nature.

The habitat, located within the eco-center, is the only alternative waterbird sanctuary of its kind in Korea.

Established in 2013, it provides a safe environment for swans that are unable to return to the wild.

Currently, six whooper swans are being cared for at the site, which also serves as an educational space promoting environmental awareness.

Last year, around 300 couples participated in the program, reflecting a strong interest in nature-based wedding experiences.

Photo sessions are available on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and participants must bring their own photography equipment.

Reservations are handled on a first-come, first-served basis through the eco-center.

The program not only offers a distinctive backdrop for wedding photos but also encourages visitors to reflect on the ecological significance of the habitat and the symbolism of lifelong partnership represented by the swan.
