Spring flower season is in full swing across South Korea, with cherry blossoms and other seasonal blooms drawing visitors to festivals nationwide from April 3 to 5.

A wide range of events are taking place during the weekend, as warmer temperatures bring many regions into peak bloom.

In Seoul, the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival remains one of the most prominent events, with cherry blossoms lining Yeouiseo-ro and attracting large crowds. Another ongoing event is the Yangjaecheon Cherry Blossom Festival, which combines spring blooms with evening lantern displays along the stream.

Nearby in Gwacheon, the Let’s Run Park Seoul Cherry Blossom Festival begins this weekend, offering a large-scale viewing area with extended programming. The Gwacheon Azalea Festival also highlights seasonal azalea blooms in the area.

Further south, Changwon hosts the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, the country’s largest cherry blossom festival, which runs through April 5 and marks its final weekend. In Andong, the Andong Cherry Blossom Festival is also underway during the same period.

Several regional festivals are scheduled specifically for the weekend. These include the Jeongeup Cherry Blossom Festival, Gochang Cherry Blossom Festival, and Buan Gaeam-dong Cherry Blossom Festival, all taking place from April 3 to 5 in the Jeolla region.

Other spring flower events are also drawing visitors. The Taean Tulip Festival in Taean features large-scale tulip displays, while the Gurye Sansuyu Flower Festival in Gurye showcases yellow sansuyu blossoms across the countryside. The Hwagae Cherry Blossom Festival along the Seomjin River is another well-known destination, particularly for its scenic blossom road.

Additional events include the Flowering Namhae Spring Festival, a short weekend festival in Namhae, and the Bear Tree Park Spring Flower Festival in Sejong, which begins this weekend and continues into early summer. On Jeju Island, the Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival highlights the island’s early-blooming king cherry trees.

With many regions reaching peak bloom at the same time, this weekend is expected to see high visitor numbers at major festival sites, particularly in Seoul and Jinhae. Conditions remain subject to weather, but the early April period continues to be one of the busiest times of year for spring flower viewing across the country.
