Seoul City is rolling out two large-scale family programs along the Han River for the Children’s Day holiday, offering hands-on activities, performances, and themed entertainment at Seoul Battleship Park and Hangang Play Place.
At Seoul Battleship Park in Mangwon Hangang Park, the 2026 Seoul Battleship Festival takes place on May 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in collaboration with the navy.
The event includes children’s military-style obstacle courses, sailor uniform ship tours, deck games, telescope watch experiences, and a variety of naval culture activities rarely available in everyday settings.
Special stage performances will also be held in the afternoon, featuring live music, navy honor guard demonstrations, b-boy shows, percussion performances, and family theater. Additional attractions such as balloon art, face painting, blacklight experiences, astronomy observation, and infant play zones round out the program.
Hangang Play Place at Ttukseom Hangang Park hosts the Hangang Play Place Adventure from May 1 to 5, operating as an all-day indoor-outdoor children’s festival. The event combines a 45-team flea market, hands-on craft booths, giant block playgrounds, coloring activities, carousel rides, inflatable play areas, food trucks, and a layered stamp tour where children collect stamps across the venue.
Performance days on May 2, 3, and 5 add busking shows, puppet theater, bubble shows, dance performances, magic shows, and animation soundtrack concerts.
Seoul officials said the two venues were designed to offer different Children’s Day experiences, one centered on naval adventure and the other on free play and family entertainment, giving visitors multiple reasons to spend the holiday along the Han River.
