Families looking for things to do over the Children’s Day holiday will have no shortage of options across Busan, with libraries, museums, parks, theaters, and public institutions all preparing special events from May 1 through May 10.

One of the earliest programs begins May 2 at Sasang Children’s Library, where a Children’s Day hands-on experience event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the annex building.

On the same day, Busan City Hall Deullaknalak hosts its own all-day children’s festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also opening May 2 is the Family Month cultural event at Domoheon, continuing May 3 and reopening for a special Children’s Day program on May 5 with performances, garden activities, balloon magic, and children’s theater.

From May 1 to 5, Busan Museum of Movies runs “Imagination Pop Pop Movie Playground,” while Han Hyeong-seok Free Children’s Theater hosts its six-day Children’s Week “Saekdong Hanmadang” festival from May 5 to 10.

Children’s Day itself on May 5 will be packed with major outdoor celebrations citywide. Myeongji Neighborhood Park hosts the 4th Gangseo Children’s Day Grand Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Busan Children’s Grand Park runs an afternoon family event from 1 to 5 p.m.

Busan Cinema Center will once again stage the 53rd Busan Children’s Day Grand Festival under the theme “Mission: Recharge Children’s Laughter Energy,” while Spo1 Park hosts its annual waterside Children’s Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Additional large programs are scheduled at Busan Museum, where “Dreaming Children, Let’s Play at the Museum!” takes place from 1 to 5 p.m.; Sasang District Office Plaza for the “Aijoa FESTA” children’s festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Busan Citizens Park, which hosts its annual Children’s Culture Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
