Seoul’s Han River is set to transform into a warm, atmospheric winter destination as a series of seasonal festivals kick off on December 19.
From Christmas markets to unexpected spring-themed installations and traditional kite flying, the riverside will offer a wide range of experiences through the end of the year.
At Ttukseom Hangang Park, the Romantic Han River Christmas Market runs from December 19 to 25, featuring holiday-themed shops, food trucks, indoor dining areas, and multiple photo zones filled with festive lights and decorations. Craft workshops, small performances, and family-friendly activities add to the cozy year-end mood.
Banpo Hangang Park also hosts “Spring ON the Han River” from December 19 to 28, introducing a striking 15-meter spring flower dome alongside transparent rest and photo domes. Visitors can enjoy floral installations, winter snacks, and light cultural events, an unusual blend of spring imagery in the heart of winter.
Rounding out the program, the Han River Wind Festival takes place December 27 and 28, inviting families to make and fly traditional kites while welcoming the new year with wishes carried into the winter sky.
Together, these events offer a festive and memorable way to close out the year along the Han River.
