Changwon is offering a mix of traditional holiday events, family activities and coastal outings across Changwon, Masan and Jinhae during the Chuseok holiday.
At the House of Changwon, a Chuseok celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 26. The free event includes ganggangsullae, folk songs, samulnori, traditional crafts and games such as yutnori, tuho and chilgyo. Advance reservations are required for craft activities.
Changwon Sweet Persimmon Theme Park will hold special programs from September 24 to 27, including traditional games, a stamp tour and the “Sweet Persimmon Expedition,” which combines educational activities with hands-on experiences. The recently opened children’s lounge will also operate throughout the holiday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In Masan, the Masan Mannal Festival will run from September 25 to 27 at Mannal Neighborhood Park. Based on a local legend about a mother and daughter being reunited, the traditional festival will feature folk performances, concerts, traditional games and family activities.
Visitors can also explore the nearby waterfront, including the 2.3-kilometer March 15 Marine Nuri Park and the walking trails around Masan Marine New City.
In Jinhae, Jinhae Marine Park will offer traditional craft activities, a free animal keychain workshop and family animation screenings during the holiday. Visitors looking for an outdoor option can also head to Jinhaeru Pavilion for coastal walks and views across Jinhae Bay, particularly around sunset when the waterfront and pavilion are illuminated.
