Seoul will host a special Chuseok-themed nighttime run at Yeouido Park on September 23, combining a 5-kilometer course with traditional holiday activities, food and entertainment.
The Hangawi Seoul Moonlight Run is the second event in the city’s monthly Night Run Project and is free to join. Registration for 300 participants opens at 2 p.m. on September 9 on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m., with the run starting at 7:45 p.m. from the Culture Square at Yeouido Park. Rather than a competitive race, participants can complete the illuminated 5-kilometer course at their own pace.
Along the route, runners can search for 150 hidden bokjumeoni, traditional Korean lucky pouches containing prizes such as hangwa, vitamins and sikhye. Songpyeon will also be provided after the run.
A full-moon photo zone and other Chuseok-themed activities will add to the holiday atmosphere.
Registration is available through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website or In the Trail.
