Dadaepo Sunset Film Festival returns to Busan Aug. 14-16

The 4th Dadaepo Sunset Film Festival will take place from August 14 to 16 at Dadaepo Beach in Busan, bringing three days of outdoor film screenings, live performances, and community events to the city’s western coastline.

Hosted by the Saha District Office and the Dadaepo Sunset Film Festival Organizing Committee, the festival combines Korean cinema with beachside entertainment, including red carpet events, guest talks, concerts, and family-friendly activities.

The festival opens on Friday, August 14, with a pre-festival program featuring short film screenings, an awards ceremony for the short film competition, a talk show hosted by Kim Kyung-sik focusing on the film Smugglers, and an outdoor screening of the movie. Evening performances by singers Lyn and rock band No Brain will conclude the first night.

The official opening ceremony takes place on Saturday, August 15, beginning with a red carpet event followed by the screening of the opening film Hansan: Rising Dragon. Throughout the day, visitors can also enjoy a dance competition and Random Play Dance event, with singer Seongri performing in the evening.

The festival concludes on Sunday, August 16, with a singing competition, a pre-show performance, a guest talk (GV), and a screening of the closing film Firefighters.

In addition to the main stage events, several free activities will run throughout the weekend:

Dadaepo Tea Lounge on the beach (5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
Youth Flea Market on the lawn (1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; opens at 4:00 p.m. on Friday)
Outdoor Mini Theater featuring animation and family films
Busking performances on Saturday
