Daegu Colorful Dalgubul Lantern Festival April 27

One of the more spectacular festivals in the country, the Daegu Colorful Dalgubul Festival returns this Saturday, April 27th.

The festival is known for its “wish lantern flying event” when the skies of the city are illuminated with thousands of lanterns by people hoping to have their wishes come true.

Doors open at 1 p.m. but the main events get underway at 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A host of cultural performances will also take place at Duryu Baseball Stadium and a parade down Dalgulbeol-daero will take participants to Banweol Dangnae Street.

While tickets to the event are already sold out, there are some tickets available the morning of, so if you want to attend, you better get there bright and early to queue up.

Tickets for individuals are 10,000 won or 30,000 won for a group of four.

Daegu is about 1.5 hours from Busan on the KTX train from Busan Station.
