Visitors will have the chance to explore how design shapes everyday life in Seoul through a new outdoor exhibition opening at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will present the “Design Seoul Walk” exhibition from June 5 to June 25 along Section A of the DDP Walking Trail.
The exhibition transforms a 150-meter sloped pathway into an open-air gallery, allowing visitors to discover the city’s urban and public design projects while enjoying a leisurely walk.
Designed around a minimalist palette of white, gray, and black, the exhibition encourages visitors to focus on the purpose and impact of design. QR codes displayed throughout the route provide additional information about each featured project.
The exhibition highlights Seoul’s five key design principles: empathy, inclusion, contribution, recovery, and sustainability. Displays range from public policy branding and transportation design to safety initiatives and urban improvement projects.
Featured exhibits include Seoul’s redesigned subway map, the integrated transportation brand GO SEOUL, and Seoul’s signature city font. Visitors can also learn about projects such as Runner Station, safety-focused urban design initiatives, improved street facilities, and redesigned subway entrance canopies.
Other sections showcase major public art and lighting projects, including Seoul Light, while highlighting how design supports local industries and startups. Interactive elements such as Fun Benches, creative lighting installations, and pictogram photo zones allow visitors to experience design firsthand.
The exhibition concludes with a look at Seoul’s evolving city brand identity, featuring the city colors introduced from Sky Coral in 2024 through Morning Yellow in 2026, along with award-winning design projects and future visions for Seoul’s public spaces.
Admission is free, and the exhibition is open daily along the DDP Walking Trail.
