First fall foliage of 2019 arrives in Busan

The Busan Regional Meteorological Administration said the first fall foliage was observed on the 21st on Mount Gaya in Habcheon and on Mount Gaji in Ulsan on the 22nd, five days later than last year.

Last year, the first autumn colors on Mount Gaya were observed on the 16th of October, reaching its peak on the 30th while Mount Gaji started on the 17th of October last year, peaking on the 31st.

According to the local weather agency the ‘first fall foliage’ is when 20 percent of the mountain has changed colors, and the peak of fall foliage is when 80 percent of the trees on the mountain have changed its colors, usually about two weeks later.
