A new direct air route connecting Busan and Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, will launch this spring.
Eastar Jet announced it will begin operating flights on the Busan–Almaty route starting May 1.
This marks the first time any airline has operated this route.
Flights will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. Departures leave Gimhae International Airport at 6:55 p.m. local time, arriving at Almaty International Airport at 10:40 p.m.
Return flights depart Almaty at 11:40 p.m. and arrive in Busan at 9:35 a.m. the following day.
The Busan–Almaty service is Eastar Jet’s second Central Asia route, following its Incheon–Almaty route launched in April last year.
It is also the airline’s tenth international route departing from Busan, joining destinations such as Taipei, Osaka, and Phu Quoc.
