The city of Busan announced that it will provide free public WiFi service to all 2,517 city buses beginning yesterday.

The city signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Science and ICT to establish a public WiFi system.

As of May, 270 buses began the WiFi service and the other 2,247 buses began the system yesterday.

An official from the city said that riders may connect to the fast and secure WiFi network using the guide posted within the buses.

The city expects a reduction in the residents’ communication fees and a narrowing of the digital information gap.
