Geoje City will officially open all 16 of its beaches for the summer season from July 4 to August 23, with local officials completing preparations aimed at providing a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.

The beaches will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the 51-day season.

During the peak summer period from July 25 to August 9, operating hours will be extended from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate higher visitor numbers.

Several beaches will offer specialized facilities this year. Myeongsa Beach will once again operate as a pet-friendly beach, allowing visitors to enjoy the coastline alongside their dogs.

Wahyeon Sand Forest Beach will improve accessibility by installing special mats on sections of the sand and providing free water wheelchairs for visitors with mobility challenges.

Ahead of the opening, Geoje City held a beach operations review meeting to inspect safety measures and visitor services. Representatives from 11 departments discussed emergency response plans, waste management, food and accommodation inspections, and measures to maintain stable prices during the busy season.

Local restaurant and lodging industry representatives also participated in discussions focused on preventing excessive pricing and ensuring a positive experience for tourists.

City officials remind visitors to follow beach regulations, including swimming only during designated hours, avoiding fishing, camping, and cooking on the beach, and refraining from removing sand or pebbles.

Pets will only be permitted at designated pet-friendly beaches.

Officials also warned against entering the water outside the official operating period, as no lifeguards or safety personnel will be on duty during those times.
