The 19th Geoje Island Flower Festival, one of Gyeongnam’s signature autumn events, will take place from November 1 to 9 at the Geoje Agricultural Development Center.
This year’s festival will be held in conjunction with the inaugural Geoje Island Oyster Festival, celebrating both the beauty of autumn flowers and Geoje’s famed seafood.
Under the theme “Geoje Island Flowers, Blooming with Peace,” the festival will feature a spectacular display of tens of millions of blossoms, showcasing floral art that symbolizes the island’s natural beauty and message of harmony.
More than 100 chrysanthemum sculptures representing Geoje will be exhibited across the lawn square, while themed zones such as Healing Herb Land and Island Flower Hill invite visitors to take a peaceful stroll.
The Agricultural Heritage Zone will present Korea’s traditional farming culture through storytelling, complemented by high-quality chrysanthemum bonsai and autumn orchid displays.
Exhibits of local specialty crops, including apple mangoes and aloe, as well as advanced agricultural technology, will also be on display.
Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy a lively lineup of performances, ranging from popera and busking to DJ sets, dance shows, acoustic guitar performances, and local artist showcases.
On November 8, the 1st Geoje Island Oyster Festival will be held at the same venue, marking the first collaboration between the two events.
Organized by the Geoje Oyster Cooperative, the festival will offer free tastings of freshly harvested oysters, discounted seafood sales, and giveaways of smoked oyster cans. Visitors can also participate in an oyster-shucking experience.
