The 19th Geoje Island Flower Festival will take place from November 1 to 9 at the Geoje Agricultural Technology Center and Geoje Botanical Garden, celebrating its theme, “Geoje Island Flowers, Blossoms of Peace,” in honor of the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation.
This year’s event highlights peace, harmony, and the beauty of autumn through vibrant floral displays and a wide range of cultural programs.
Visitors can expect much more than just stunning flower exhibits. The festival offers immersive experiences that reflect Geoje’s traditions, culture, and history, including a reenactment of the Arrival of the Geoje Magistrate, a POW Camp Special Exhibition, and the Street Ssireum (Korean Wrestling) Competition.
These programs are designed to connect the city’s heritage with its festive atmosphere.
The stage lineup is equally rich, featuring the Youth K-POP Festival, Multicultural Singing Contest, and National Acoustic Guitar Competition, ensuring entertainment for all generations.
Families can also enjoy hands-on activities such as the Peace Experience Zone, children’s play areas, horseback riding and animal feeding, and sweet potato and peanut harvesting.
For the first time, the festival grounds will remain open until 8 p.m., allowing visitors to experience the illuminated sculptures and glowing flower displays under the night sky.
