Geoje City has appointed five-member girl group Rescene as its new promotional ambassadors as part of a push to strengthen engagement with younger audiences and promote the city’s brand through digital content.
The group — Woni, Liv, Minami, May and Zena — debuted in 2024 and has quickly gained attention for its music and online content, particularly through YouTube and social media platforms.
Their song Love Attack recently gained renewed popularity online, climbing music charts after gaining traction through social media, university festivals, baseball cheer songs and short-form challenge videos.
Geoje said the appointment stands out for taking a digital-first approach, moving away from traditional ceremonial ambassador events in favor of short-form social media content designed to connect more naturally with younger audiences.
The promotional campaign centers around Geoje’s signature phrase “Geoje Yaho,” using a meme-style storytelling format set against some of the city’s major tourist attractions before being delivered to the members of Rescene.
