Yeongdong Dried Persimmon Festival
Date: Until Dec. 17
Location: Areas of Hasang Parking Lot, Yeongdong, Chungcheongbuk-do
Yeongdong is the largest fruit-producing center in Korea, it is even known as the Holy Land of Fruit, and during the Yeongdong Dried Persimmons Festival, fruit producers and customers alike gather to celebrate one of the region’s most famous fruits.
From Seoul Station, take a train to Yeongdong (영동).
* Train Schedule: 06:05-22:50, runs 26 times a day.
From Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus to Yeongdong (Okcheon).

Pyeongchang Trout Festival
Date: Dec. 22, 2017- Feb. 25, 2018
Location: Odaecheon Stream area
The Pyeongchang Trout Festival takes place during winter in the town of Jinbu-myeon in Pyeongchang-gun district. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a variety of programs including ice and lure fishing for trout, snow programs, ice programs, folk programs, and more. There will also be traditional folk games including sledding and top spinning, and visitors can try out sports such as riding 4-wheel ATVs, snow rafting, sleigh trains. Any trout caught from ice fishing and lure fishing can be prepared right away at a nearby restaurant.
Trout farming first started in Pyeongchang due to its cold, clear waters. Trout offer plenty of nutrition, and their natural taste makes them delicious when eaten raw.
From Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus to Jinbu (진부).

Yangju Snow Festival

Forest in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do
Operated by Crown Haetae Art Valley under Crown Haetae Confectionary, Yangju Snow Festival is held throughout the area of the Art Valley featuring one of the top stunning natural sceneries in Yangju-si themed on the beauty of snow.
Gupabal Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), Exit 2. – Go straight for approx. 58m and take Bus No.15-1 to Silver Culture Center Bus Stop (approx. 1 hr).
– Head right for about 263m to arrive the festival venue. Or – Take Bus No. 704 and get off at Bugok-ri Jongjeom (last stop) Bus Stop (approx. 46min).

Ttangkkeut Sunset Sunrise Festival

Location: The areas of Ttangkkeut Village in Songji-myeon, Haenam-gun
Ttangkkeut Sunset Sunrise Festival will take place at Ttangkkuet Village in Songji-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanamdo. The festival includes a sunset and sunrise ceremony, and ttangkkeut music concert. The festival is famous for the unique view of the sunrise through a crack between the rocks of Hyeongjebawi next to Galduhang Port.
From Dong Seoul Bus Terminal or Seoul Central City Bus Terminal. Take an intercity bus to Haenam Bus Terminal. From Haenam Bus Terminal, take a taxi to the village. (39 km away / the taxi fare will cost around 32,000 won / Travel time: 60 min)

Yangyang Sunrise Festival

Location: Naksan Beach, Naksansa Temple and Donghaesinmyo Shrine.
Yangyang Sunrise Festival is held to commemorate the end of the year and welcome the New Year, and to showcase the beautiful sunrise from the ocean. The festival takes place at Naksansa Temple, Naksan Beach and Donghaesinmyo Shrine.
From Seoul Express Bus Terminal, Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, or Sangbong Terminal, take a bus bound for Yangyang Terminal. Exit the bus terminal and walk to your right, and take local bus No. 9 or No. 9-1 and get off at Naksan Bus Stop. The festival venue will be on your left. Or, take a taxi to the festival venue from the bus terminal. (Travel distance: approx. 6km)

Jeongdongjin Sunrise Festival

Location: Jeongdongjin Sandglass Park
Jeongdongjin gets its name from the word jeongdong, which means due east in Korean, as it is exactly due east from Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Gate. Its train station is known to be the world’s nearest train station to the ocean. Watching the first sunrise of the year from Jeongdongjin will be a unique experience to begin the upcoming year.
Take a train from Cheongnyangni (Seoul) Station to Jeongdongjin (Gangneung) Station.

Everland Christmas Fantasy

Everland’s Christmas Fantasy is a fantastic and romantic winter festival. During the period, tourists can enjoy various attractions like T-express, Thunder Falls, Lost Valley and the Safari Ride more freely compared with other seasons as well as a romantic Christmas ambience in advance of the real season. In particular, a village where Santa and Rudolph are living creates a strong Christmas atmosphere through carol songs playing all day long. At night, the village boasts its concept of gold, brightening the area.

E-World Starlight Festival

Location: Areas of E-World and 83 Tower
E-World Starlight Festival is held with ten million lights in an area of 120,000 pyeong around E-World and 83 Tower. Hot-air balloons, roses, and masks light decorations and other events will catch people’s eyes at this carnival-like festival. The events start at night and large characteristic trees are decorated along the 200m Light Road, as well as a Umbrella Road, Carnival Road, and photo zone created by 1,000 lights. Also, 10,000 LED roses cover the proposal stairs, creating a romantic and special ambience. This festival is beloved by young couples as part of a night dating course.

Chuncheon Lake Starlight Nation Festival

To commemorate ten million visitors to Chuncheon since the beginning of operations on the Gyeongchun Line, Chuncheon Lake Starlight Nation
Festival will be held in the area of Chuncheon MBC Building and M Square from June to December for all tourists to enjoy.

Herb Island Light Festival - Lighting & Illumination

Location: Pocheon Herb Island
Herb Island Lighting & Illumination Fesitval features a romantic ambience created by splendid lightings. It is comprised of a pink wish tunnel, sparkling buildings, Santa Village, photo zone and other twinkling places for visitors to enjoy.

Bucheon Aiins World - World Nightview Fantasy Lighting Festival

Aiins World, the world’s best miniature theme park is hosting the second season of ‘World Nightview Fantasy Lighting Festival’. Located in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, the theme park is easily accessible via public transportation as the nearest subway station is Samsan Gymnasium (Seoul Subway Line 7), making it an ideal destination to visit during the late evenings, after meal time.

Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival takes place at Hwacheon county in Gangwon-do with plenty of snow and ice, perfect for a winter getaway. Busan Christmas Tree Festival

Location: Car-free area of Gwangbok-ro, Jung-gu, Busan
The Busan Christmas Tree Festival, Busan’s annual winter event, will be held in the Gwangbok-ro area of the Jung-gu District in Busan.
To add a more festive atmosphere, there will be concerts, a tree of wishes, street performances, collecting love coins, a photo and video contest, and many more.

Animal & Heart Village Light Festival at Ansan Starlight Village Photo Land

Starlight Village Photo Land provides a beautiful and romantic light festival all year round in the theme of Annimal & Heart Villages. The Animal Village is decorated with displays of over 200 animals from owls, cranes and swans to elephants, giraffes, lions, pandas and more. Lighting Festival at The Garden of Morning Calm

Location: Main gardens, 432, Sumogwon-ro, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
Held at the Garden of Morning Calm, the Lighting Festival is the biggest festival of lights in Korea, covering 100 thousand pyeong illuminated by 30,000 lights. The gleaming lights add a festive glow to the garden during the winter season. The main gardens are Hakyung Garden, Hometown House Garden, Bonsai Garden, Moonlight Garden, Sky Path and Garden of Eden, with colorful lights adorning the trees. In the event of inclement weather, lights may be turned off for safety.
From Sangbong Bus Terminal or Dong Seoul Bus Terminal take a bus bound for Cheongpyeong Bus Terminal. Or Take bus No. 1330 at Cheongnyangni Transfer Center (in front of Lotte Department Store) and get off at the Cheongpyeong Bus Terminal.
From Cheonpyeong Terminal, take a bus bound for The Garden of Morning Calm. Alternatively, take the Gapyeong City Tour Bus.
Cheongpyeong Station (Gyeonchun Line), Exit 1. Go left until you reach the 3-way intersection and turn right. Continue straight toward the Cheongpyeong Catholic Church.
