Goseong Lavender Festival
Date: Until Jun 21
Location: Hani Lavender Farm in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do
Every June, the areas around Eocheon-ri in Goseong-gun are covered with the purple lavender fields. During this season, many local and international visitors attend the annual Goseong Lavender Festival. This year, the festival will have a variety of programs, from exhibitions to performances.
Some of these include a lavender photo exhibit and a photo contest at the farm and the village, as well as a photo gallery and a classical music concert, to name a few. The lucky draw event is something that should not be missed.
- From Dong Seoul Terminal, take an intercity bus bound for Ganseong.
- From Ganseong Intercity Bus Terminal, take a local bus bound for Sinan-ri.
Get off at Ucheon Medical Center bus stop.

Korean Folk Village Variety Festival "Welcome to Joseon"

Location: Korean Folk Village
The best cultural theme park in the nation, Korean Folk Village hosts the “Welcome to Joseon” Variety Festival each spring. Programs include parades and performances as well as hands-on activities and cast members wandering freely throughout the park to interact with visitors. Travel in time back to the Joseon Dynasty with the characters in a
interesting and real comedy act.

- From Suwon Station (Seoul Subway Line 1), Exit 5. Take Bus No. 37 or 10-5.

Seoul International Music Festival

Location: Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Concert Hall, etc.
Seoul International Music Festival (SIMF), brings world-renown groups and performers to share classical music at its best to visitors and citizens alike. SIMF donates 5% of its profit to low-income citizens and also give them free tickets to concerts, so that they can have a chance to experience classical music live.

Hansan Ramie Fabric Cultural FestivalGwangju Toechon Tomato

Location: Area of Hansan Ramie Fabric Hall
Hansan Ramie Fabric Cultural Festival is an experiential venue to learn about the excellence and historical value of UNESCO-recognized Hansan ramie fabri c (Mosi), a traditional Korean natural fiber. Many visitors can understand the traditional culture of Hansan ramie fabric that has continued for 1,500 years in Seocheon-gun and enjoy handicraft and clothes made with the ramie fabric. Hansan ramie fabric was given as a regional tribute to the king and has continued on as a local specialty product that is notable from past to present.
Take a train from Seoul Station or Yongsan Station to Seocheon Station.

Gwangju Toechon Tomato

Location: Public Stadium, Toechon-myeon
Gwangju Toechon Tomato Festival takes place in Toechon, which has been growing tomatoes since the 1970s. The festival is held to promote and sell their organic tomatoes grown from clean areas of Paldangho Lake. During the festival, visitors can enjoy various activities such as tomato pool, tomato fight, treasure hunt, tomato cooking contest, writing contest, and other programs.

Ulsan Whale Festival
Date: July 5 - July 8
Location: Area of Jangsaengpo, Nam-gu, Ulsan
Ulsan Whale Festival is held in the area of Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone. The area is equipped with many things for visitors to see, such as the whale museum, Jangsaengpo Whale Watching Cruise, and Jangsaengpo Whale Life Experience Museum. The variety of sites at the festival will give visitors an extra level of fun and discovery.
Take a train(KTX) from Seoul Station to Ulsan.
From Seoul Express Bus Terminal, take a bus to Ulsan Terminal.
From Ulsan Station, take bus 317, 327, 337 or 807.

Buyeo Seodong Lotus Festival
Date: July 6 - July 15
Location: Area of Seodong Park (Gungnamji)
This festival celebrates the beautiful lotus flowers and highlights the importance of preserving wild flowers. Although the festival’s program contains many events related to lotus flowers, making paper lotus flowers and making lotus flower soap are two particularly popular programs with international visitors. Various other popular tourist destinations are located nearby the festival grounds, including several Baekje (18 BC-660 AD) cultural historic sites such as the Baekje Wangneungwon (royal mausoleum), Nakhwaam, and the Baekje Historical Museum.
From Seoul Nambu Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus to Buyeo.
From Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal, take a taxi to Gungnamji.

Boryeong Mud Festival
Date: July 13 - July 22
Location: Daecheon Beach area (Mud square)
Of the numerous festivals in Korea, Boryeong Mud Festival attracts the largest number of international visitors. During the festival period, tourists flock to the area to experience the benefits of Boryeong’s mud while having a blast. Fully immersed in both the mud and the festival’s great atmosphere, visitors enjoy mud wrestling, mud sliding and even swimming in the giant mud bath. Visitors feeling particularly energetic can try the marine mud-training course, whilse those looking for something more relaxing can chill in the mud massage zone. In the evening, music and fireworks continue to have the party going at the beach.
- From Seoul Central City Bus Terminal, take an express bus to Boryeong. From Boryeong Bus Terminal, take a bus bound for Daecheon Beach. (10min intervals)
- From Yongsan Station or Yeongdeungpo Station, take a train to Daecheon Station. From Daecheon Station, take a local bus bound for Daecheon Beach.
Daegu Chimac Festival
Date: July 18 - July 22
Location: Areas of Duryu Park in Daegu
Daegu Chimac Festival celebrates what Koreans love to enjoy, chicken with beer, and will take place at Duryu Park in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. The term “chimac” is a portmanteau of chicken and maekju (meaning “beer”). With over 880,000 visitors in 2015, and one million visitors during the festival of 2016, the number of total visitors continue to increase as this festival steps up to become one of the most significant events in Korea. This year’s festival will include music and cultural performances, making the entire festival overflow with youthful energy.
From Seoul Station, Yeongdeungpo Station or Yongsan Station, take the train to Dong Daegu Station or Daegu Station.
Duryu Station (Daegu Subway Line2), Exit 14. Walk straight for approx. 637 m toward Duryu Park.
From Daegu Station or Dong Daegu Station (Daegu Subway Line 1), transfer to Line 2 at Banwoldang Station.

Pohang International Fireworks Festival
Date: July 25 - July 29
Location: Yeongildae Beach areas
The Pohang International Fireworks Festival is held at Yeongildae Beach in Pohang, which is also known as the “City of Light and Fire.” The festival features a fireworks competition, a parade of lights, street performances, and a range of hands-on activities. It is usually held around the end of July.
Take a train from Seoul Station to Pohang Station.
Take a bus from Gangnam Express Bus Terminal to Pohang Express Bus Terminal.

Hwacheon Tomato Festival
Date: Aug. 2 - Aug. 5
Location: Area of 6, Munhwamaeul 1-gil, Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do
The Hwacheon Tomato Festival is held annually over four consecutive days in August in the area of Culture Village in Sanae-myeon, Hwacheon-gun. Starting off with a pre-event on the eve of the opening, it is followed by various exhibitions, hands-on programs, performances including tables with seating for one thousand people, finding a tomato gold ring, let’s play with tomato, tomato summer festival, tomato soccer, children’s swimming pool, and other varied programs related to tomatoes. Tomato sales and other programs will give excitement to every visitor.
- From Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, take an intercity bus bound for Sachang-ri Bus Terminal.
From the terminal, walk toward Sanae-ro for about 450 m and the venue will be on the left.

Herb Island Light Festival - Lighting & Illumination
Date: Until Oct. 31, 2018
Location: Pocheon Herb Island
Herb Island Lighting & Illumination Fesitval features a romantic ambience created by splendid lightings. It is comprised of a pink wish tunnel, sparkling buildings, Santa Village, photo zone and other twinkling places for visitors to enjoy.
Take an express bus to Pocheon Intercity Bus Terminal.
Take Bus No. 57 bound for Sinbuk Oncheon (Sinbuk Hot spring) at the local bus stop outside the bus terminal.
Get off at Samjeong-ri and go straight on Samcheongol-gil Street to arrive at Herb Island.

Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival

Location: Penta Park
Pentaport Rock Festival is a rock festival ardently supported by not just local rock fans, but by music fans worldwide. The festival takes place normally in early August, in Songdo City. Overseas rock bands will be playing in the lineup with local rock musicians for an energetic rock bands will be playing in the lineup with local rock musicians for an energetic rock music festival that’s out of this world!
