Hangang Summer Festival

Location: 11 different locations of Hangang River and Parks
Introduction: 
Hangang Summer Festival, also called Hangang Mongttang Festival, is a large-scale riverside culture festival, and the representative summer festival of Seoul. It consists of about 80 programs including camping, water leisure sports, circus, music concert, movie concert, street performances, bike-riding, paper-boat sailing, fire art, traditional performances, night market, and others, organized by the Hangang Project Headquarters, and various civic organizations. Every type of visitor can enjoy the festival in Hangang Park with the multitude of programs.
Transportation:  
The festival takes place at multiple locations around Hangang River, therefore taking public transportation (subway or bus) is strongly recommeded during the event period.

Cool Summer Music Festival 
 
Date: Until Aug. 27
Location: Areas of Seoulland
Introduction: 
Seoulland hosts ‘Cool Summer! Music Festival’ between late June and late August. The highlight is the large-scaled water gun fight held in World Plaza, where water streams are pouring from all directions to cool off the scorching heat. At night, various programs such as Music Survival, Chi-maek (chicken and beer) Night, and evening performances are available, making the whole day full of joy. Also, ‘Character Castle’ is open as a complex cultural healing facility comprised of a garden, character cafe, character exhibition hall, and resting area for visitors to relax in this natural area within the city.

Everland Summer Water Fun

Location: Everland
Introduction: 
Thanks to its annual water festival held during the hottest time of the year since 2005, Everland is one of the most popular summer attractions. The festival is packed with various programs like water shows, light shows, and game activities for visitors to enjoy.
Everland will be open daily from 10:00 to 22:00 during the festival period, and extend its hours until 23:00 from mid-July to mid-August.

Namyangju Dasan Culture Festival
 
Date: Sept. 15 – Sept. 17
Location: Dasan Heritage Site and Dasan Ecological Park
Introduction: 
Dasan Cultural Festival will take place in the area of Dasan Heritage Site and Dasan Ecological Park in Namyangju-si. The festival has been held annually since 1986 in memory of the spirit of Dasan Jeong Yakyong, a scholar of the late Joseon Dynasty whose hometown was Namyangju-si. During the festival, various performances and hands-on programs will be prepared for visitors.
Transportation:  
Ungilsan Station (Jungang Line), 
Exit 2.
Go left for 200m and take Bus 56 to Dasan Heritage Site.
Get off at the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Historical Site & Silhak Museum Bus Stop (14 bus stops).
The venue is located on the right side.
Cheongnyangni Station (Jungang Line & Seoul Subway Line 1), Exit 4.
Transfer to Bus 167 and get off at Entrance to Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Historical Site. (60 bus stops away)
Walk 50m toward the Dasan three-way intersection and transfer to Bus 56 and get off at Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Historical Site & Silhak Museum Bus Stop. (2 bus stops away)
The museum will be on the right within 120m.

Sancheong Medicinal Herb Festival
 
Date: Sept. 15 – Sept. 24

Introduction: 
This festival celebrates the herbs of Jirisan Mountain, which are commonly known to have great medicinal properties, making this the perfect event for visitors eager to improve their health through natural remedies. 
At this festival, visitors will be exposed to a wide variety of Korea’s medicinal herbs and medical traditions. Along with many other exciting events, you will even be able to sample traditional Oriental medicinal food made from herbs. Visitors can sample herbs for free, and can take home their favorite herb or remedy at low cost. Some herbs can even be grown at home!

Cultural Night Walk in Jeonju

Location: Jeonju Hanok Village/National Institute of Oral and Intangible Heritage
Introduction:
Visitors may find it even more interesting as they go through hundreds of hanok in the Jeonju Hanok Village under the bright moonlight. “Cultural Night Walk in Jeonju” is hosting for the first time this year after being selected by the Cultural Heritage Administration through a competition. A “Cultural Night Walk in Jeonju” offers rich contents and representative culture of Jeonju. Every street boasts meaningful cultural heritage, and every alleyway has a hidden story of Jeonju for visitors to enjoy.

Gimje Horizon Festival

Introduction: 
Gimje Horizon Festival, held from late September to early October every year since 1999, takes place at Byeokgolje Reservoir, which is the heart of the Honam rice bowl. The festival aims to show the importance of Korea’s farming culture, which is a foundation of the nation, with the theme of sky and land meeting at the horizon. The festival also aims to promote the regional image and economy. Many dynamic and active programs are available for festival-goers to participate in before the golden horizon.

Donggang International Photo Festival

Location: Donggang Museum of Photography and nearby outdoor exhibition hall, Yeongwol Station, Cultural Art Hall, Large Hall of Yeongwol-gun County Office, Women’s Hall, areas of Yeongwol 
Introduction:
Dong Gang International Photo Festival offers various exhibitions and educational programs to develop the Korean photo industry in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do to become the main area for photography. The festival also aims to promote Korea’s photography become an addition to the world’s trend through international interactions.

Gwangju World Kimchi Festival

Introduction:
Gwangju International Kimchi Festival is held to promote one of the famous locally produced specialties, Kimchi. The nation’s singular Kimchi themed 
park, Gwangju Kimchi Town is the venue for diverse kimchi-related programs like cooking experience, art gallery, kimchi market, and
other entertaining events. Also, the Presidential Prize will be awarded for the ‘Kimchi Master Competition’ held along with various hands-on programs.
Participants can take home kimchi that they made themselves at the festival.

Chuncheon Lake Starlight Nation Festival

Location: Uiamho Lake, Gongjicheon Sculpture Park, Uiam Park, Chuncheon MBC, KT&G Sangsang Madang
Introduction:
To commemorate ten million visitors to Chuncheon since the beginning of operations on the Gyeongchun Line, Chuncheon Lake Starlight Nation
Festival will be held in the area of Chuncheon MBC Building and M Square from June to December for all tourists to enjoy.

- Walk 150m to reach Gongchicheon Park.

Chuncheon MBC is located next to Uiam Park within 430m walking distance.

Bucheon Aiins World - World Nightview Fantasy Lighting Festival

Aiins World, the world’s best miniature theme park is hosting the second season of ‘World Nightview Fantasy Lighting Festival’. Located in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, the theme park is easily accessible via public transportation as the nearest subway station is Samsan Gymnasium (Seoul Subway Line 7), making it an ideal destination to visit during the late evenings, after meal time.

Introduction: 
Herb Island Lighting & Illumination Fesitval features a romantic ambience created by splendid lightings. It is comprised of a pink wish tunnel, sparkling buildings, Santa Village, photo zone and other twinkling places for visitors to enjoy.

Take Bus No. 57 bound for Sinbuk Oncheon (Sinbuk Hot spring) at the local bus stop outside the bus terminal.
