Ghost Park Festival draws record crowds in Hapcheon, South Korea

The 2026 Hapcheon Ghost Park Festival is seeing record attendance, with visitor numbers more than doubling compared with the same period last year.

Since opening on July 31, the nighttime horror festival has welcomed 19,571 visitors as of August 9, up 110% from the 9,301 visitors recorded during the same period in 2025.

Weekday attendance has grown even more sharply, increasing by 172%, as more visitors choose to avoid the larger weekend crowds.

Held at the Hapcheon Image Theme Park, this year’s festival is themed “Masquerade,” transforming the venue into Dracula’s grand masked ball.

Visitors take on the role of monster hunters as they navigate haunted attractions, including a laboratory, prison, haunted shopping arcade, and ghostly manor.

The festival also features family-friendly attractions, themed performances, interactive events, and special effects makeup experiences.

Guests can collect and spend event-exclusive Meteor Coins to participate in games and unlock attractions.

The festival runs daily from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. through August 16, with organizers recommending weekday visits for shorter wait times and a more relaxed experience.
