Gimhae Gaya Theme Park is emerging as a popular nighttime tourism destination in the Gyeongnam region, with visitor numbers continuing to rise as demand grows for evening attractions.

According to the Gimhae Culture and Tourism Foundation, more than 10,000 paid visitors attended the park’s nighttime opening program between April 10 and the end of May, more than triple the number recorded during the same period last year.

The park has been operating weekend night openings since April and plans to continue expanding its evening attractions through November. Officials attribute the increase in visitors to warmer weather, growing interest in nighttime tourism, and the introduction of new attractions.

Among the newest additions is the Night Turtle Garden, featuring illuminated installations, interactive light displays, and open lawn spaces designed for both relaxation and hands-on experiences. Existing attractions such as the Gaya Light Palace and illuminated flower walkways continue to draw visitors as popular photo spots.

The park’s summer schedule will include a multimedia fireworks show featuring lasers, music, and pyrotechnics every Saturday from July 18 through August.

A larger-scale light festival, titled Voyage Toward the Light, is scheduled to run from August 14 to 23 and will explore the story of Queen Heo and the ancient Gaya Kingdom through illuminated displays and interactive exhibits.

Additional events planned for September include a citizens’ singing competition and nighttime palace concerts as the park continues to expand its seasonal evening programming.
