Gimhae will open its public park water playgrounds on July 1 following a series of safety inspections and facility upgrades designed to provide a clean and safe environment for families during the summer season.

The city has been carrying out maintenance work based on the results of a comprehensive inspection conducted earlier this year. Aging and damaged facilities have been repaired or replaced ahead of the opening.

Because water playgrounds present a higher risk of slips and minor injuries than standard playgrounds, inspections have focused on water supply and drainage systems, pumps, electrical equipment, safety signage, ladders, and other key facilities.

Additional safety checks and staff training will be completed before opening.

The water playgrounds will operate free of charge from 11 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. through August 31, although operating schedules may be adjusted depending on weather conditions. Facilities will close one day each week for maintenance and water quality management, and will not operate during periods of rain.

The city will also conduct regular water quality testing and deploy trained safety personnel on-site throughout the summer season.
