A picturesque barley field, reminiscent of the countryside, has been cultivated at Gwangalli Beach.

This unique seasonal attraction has emerged as a hidden gem for both locals and tourists since its inception three years ago.

The Gwangalli Beach Creation Project Where Flowers Bloom in All Four Seasons, initiated by Suyeong-gu District Mayor Kang Seong-tae in 2021, aims to transform 1,800 square meters of Millak Beach Park into a year-round floral haven.

Each season features its own signature blooms: sunflowers in summer, chrysanthemums in fall, and barley during winter. The green barley field will delight visitors until May 11 of next year.

Originally conceived as a tranquil retreat to uplift the community during the social challenges of COVID-19, the project quickly evolved into a must-visit spot.

The barley field, with Gwangan Bridge and the beach as its stunning backdrop, has become a popular photo zone.

Following suggestions in 2022, the district began planting barley in winter and introduced an interactive program at the Gwangalli Riverside Festival.
