The Gyeongnam Art Museum will host a special film screening and curator talk on May 27 as part of its ongoing Picasso Ceramics exhibition and Korea’s monthly Culture Day program.
The event, titled Picasso Film Room, is designed to offer visitors a deeper look into the artistic world of Pablo Picasso through a documentary screening and exhibition-related discussion.
The featured film, Meeting Picasso, is a 1954 documentary by Italian filmmaker Luciano Emmer that captures Picasso at work, showing the artist creating ceramics and drawings in real time.
Museum officials said the documentary is expected to provide added context for visitors viewing the current Picasso Ceramics exhibition, offering a closer look at Picasso’s creative process and his lesser-known work in pottery.
Following the screening, visitors will have an opportunity to join a talk session with curator Kim Ju-hyun, who helped organize the exhibition. The discussion will explore Picasso’s artistic legacy and the significance of the current exhibition.
The film screening will begin at 6:20 p.m. and run for about 40 minutes, followed by the curator talk at 7:10 p.m. for another 40 minutes.
Participation is free, and advance registration is available through the Gyeongnam Art Museum website.
