Beach season is almost here, with 26 beaches across Gyeongsangnam-do preparing to welcome visitors throughout July and August.

From family-friendly beaches to scenic island destinations, popular coastal spots in Changwon, Tongyeong, Sacheon, Geoje and Namhae will open in stages, offering a variety of options for summer travelers.

The 2026 operating schedule is as follows:

  • Changwon (1 beach): July 4 – August 23

  • Tongyeong (3 beaches): July 11 – August 23

  • Sacheon (1 beach): July 10 – August 23

  • Geoje (16 beaches): July 4 – August 23

  • Namhae (5 beaches): July 10 – August 23

Among the region’s most popular destinations are Gwangam Beach in Changwon, Bijindo Beach in Tongyeong, Namildae Beach in Sacheon, Hakdong Black Pearl Pebble Beach and Gujora Beach in Geoje, and Sangju Silver Sand Beach in Namhae.

Many beaches are known for calm waters, shallow swimming areas and nearby walking trails, making them popular choices for families, while others offer opportunities for water sports, island excursions and coastal sightseeing.
