Toll fees will be temporarily suspended on all privately operated roads across Gyeongnam province during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.
Gyeongnam Province announced that tolls will not be collected for four days, from February 15 to 18, at five privately financed road facilities.
During this period, three routes managed by the provincial government — the Machang Bridge, the Geoga Bridge, and the Changwon–Busan road including the Bulmosan Tunnel — will operate free of charge.
Changwon City also confirmed that toll collection would be waived at the Palryong Tunnel and the Jigae–Namsan road.
Officials estimate that more than 600,000 vehicles will benefit from the measure.
The province will cover the full cost of the waived tolls, which is expected to total approximately 1.6 billion won.
Drivers can pass through toll gates as usual, with fees automatically exempted, while Hi-Pass users simply need to keep their devices active.
The province said the temporary exemption is intended to reduce holiday travel costs for residents while encouraging tourism and increased spending in local commercial areas.
To ensure drivers are aware of the policy, Gyeongnam plans to provide advance notice through road electronic signboards, official websites, and social media.
Safety inspections and traffic management measures will also be implemented ahead of the holiday period to support safe travel.
