The beauty of autumn meets the thrill of competition as Korea’s top thoroughbred mares race for glory at the 19th Gyeongsangnam-do Governor’s Cup Grand Prix, set for October 26 at Let’s Run Park Busan–Gyeongnam.
Launched in 2005 to coincide with the opening of the Busan–Gyeongnam Racecourse, the annual Governor’s Cup has become one of Korea’s premier racing events, drawing nationwide attention for its prestige and growing popularity each year.
Sixteen elite Korean-bred fillies, aged three and older, will compete over a 2,000-meter course for a total purse of 500 million won, with the champion taking home 275 million won.
The Korea Racing Authority’s Busan–Gyeongnam branch will host a variety of programs for racegoers, including promotional booths, experience zones, and local product exhibitions.
The Gyeongnam 6th Industry Support Center and Rural Experience Village Council will showcase agricultural specialties and offer interactive rural life experiences and consultations for visitors.
Located on Garak-daero in Gimhae and Gangseo-gu, Busan, Let’s Run Park Busan–Gyeongnam spans 1.24 million square meters and serves as a vibrant leisure hub.
Beyond racing, the complex includes Equestrian Land, Pony Land, Eco Land, and Derby Land, offering citizens and visitors a place where sports, culture, and recreation come together.
