Hadong Cable Car, one of the region’s most scenic landmarks with sweeping views of the South Coast, is launching a nationwide “Winter Special Discount” through January 31, offering up to 3,000 won off per person depending on residence.
The promotion aims to welcome travelers visiting during winter break and the year-end holiday season by making winter trips to Hadong more affordable and memorable.
The discount varies by region with playful themed slogans.
Residents of Gyeongnam and Jeonnam, long considered neighbor regions connected by the Seomjingang River and Hwagae Market, receive 3,000 won off under the friendly slogan, “Crossing the Seomjingang waves and carrying the warmth of Hwagae Market—Neighbors stick together!”
Travelers from Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon receive 3,000 won off with a message of appreciation for their long-distance journey, while all other regions enjoy a 2,000 won welcome discount.
In short, anyone in Korea can enjoy a reduced fare this winter.
Located on Geumosan, the highest peak along the southern coast, Hadong Cable Car is known for its panoramic views year-round, but winter offers especially striking scenery. Visitors can take in snowy mountain landscapes and the deep blue South Sea without the need for strenuous hiking, making it one of the region’s top “winter view” destinations.
During the promotion period, the cable car site will be decorated with a full Christmas theme.
A six-meter Christmas tree at the entrance creates a romantic photo spot, and warm seasonal décor inside the cabins makes it an ideal winter outing for families and a cozy date spot for couples.
