Hadong County will begin operating a real time cherry blossom monitoring service on its official website starting March 10, allowing visitors to track blooming conditions in Hwagae myeon during the peak spring season.
The service will run through April 6 and aims to provide residents and tourists with up to date information on the famous Hadong Sipri Cherry Blossom Road. Each spring the area receives a surge of inquiries from across the country about bloom timing, but accurate updates have often been difficult to obtain without visiting in person.
To improve access to information, the county introduced the monitoring system in 2018. Cameras and sensors using Internet of Things technology have been installed at several locations including Hwagae Market and along the Sipri Cherry Blossom Road.
Visitors can check the blossom status in real time through both computers and mobile devices through the Hadong County website at www.hadong.go.kr.
The website also provides practical information such as nearby parking areas and restroom locations throughout Hwagae myeon, helping visitors plan their trips more easily during the busy cherry blossom season.
