Fun in Korea: Hamyang Sangnim Forest Film Festival to be held throuhg June 17

A film festival exploring the relationship between nature, ecology, and human life will be held in Hamyang, South Gyeongsang Province, from June 15 to 17.
The 2nd Hamyang Sangnim Forest Film Festival will take place at the Small Performance Hall of the Hamyang Culture and Arts Center under the theme, “Where Nature Resides, Cinema Blossoms.”
The festival will feature a selection of domestic and international films centered on environmental and ecological issues, while also incorporating literature and music programs. Organizers say the event aims to raise awareness of climate change and environmental challenges while creating opportunities for interaction between local residents and visitors.
Screenings throughout the three-day festival will address topics including ecological conservation, climate change, and the relationship between people and nature. Several films will be followed by “Guest Visit” sessions, allowing audiences to meet directors and discuss both the filmmaking process and environmental themes.
The opening ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on June 15, featuring welcoming remarks from festival organizers, a poetry recital by poet Lee Won-gyu, and a performance by folk duo Yeoyu and Seolbin.
The opening film will be the animated feature Snow Bear, which tells the story of a polar bear through a warm and reflective narrative.
