Seoul’s Hangang sledding hills have wrapped up their winter season with the highest attendance since opening, attracting a total of 180,849 visitors over 50 days.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Hangang Project Headquarters announced that the sledding facilities at Ttukseom, Jamwon and Yeouido officially closed on February 18.

Opened on December 31, the three sites recorded a 28% increase compared to the previous season’s 141,134 visitors, marking the highest turnout since all three locations began operating simultaneously in 2023.

On average, around 2,000 people visited on weekdays, while weekends and public holidays saw approximately 6,400 guests per day. Compared to last season, daily attendance rose by about 1,051 visitors, reinforcing the sledding hills’ reputation as one of Seoul’s signature family-friendly winter attractions.

By location, Yeouido welcomed 76,078 visitors, Ttukseom saw 75,651, and Jamwon recorded 29,120 guests. Each park featured an 80-meter slope, offering a thrilling ride for children and adults alike.

The sites also expanded their character-themed attractions.

At Yeouido, visitors were greeted by Loopy; Jamwon featured Pororo and friends; and Ttukseom showcased a travel-themed zone with Pororo and Tayo.

A Pororo Village photo zone and character parades added to the festive atmosphere, providing families with interactive experiences beyond sledding.

Following the winter season, the Yeouido and Ttukseom sledding sites will undergo renovations and reopen as four-season “Culture Hot Pools.”

The city plans to move beyond the previous summer-and-winter-only model, transforming the spaces into year-round leisure and cultural hubs.

In spring and autumn, the areas will host festivals, branded pop-up stores, exhibitions and experiential programs that highlight Hangang’s riverside lifestyle.

Applications to use Hangang Park swimming pool facilities for events can be submitted from 100 days up to 20 days prior to the event date, via in-person visit, fax, email or mail.
