Homeplus has resumed operations at 67 stores nationwide after suspending business last month, although many locations are still operating with limited inventory.

The retailer said the stores began a temporary reopening on August 7 as part of an operational testing period. The company plans to complete inspections and address any issues before officially reopening all locations on August 13.

Restocking is underway using a 200 billion won emergency operating loan provided by Meritz Financial Group, but shelves at many stores remain only partially stocked.

Homeplus said the current phase is intended to test systems under real operating conditions rather than represent full business operations.

The company also reported renewed customer interest, saying visits to its My Homeplus membership app reached 100,000 after the reopening schedule was announced.

However, the Homeplus labor union says employees remain concerned about delays in product deliveries and a lack of clear information regarding restocking plans.

While the company estimates inventory levels have recovered to around 30%, the union claims some stores have received only about 10% of their expected stock.
